Why buy a man down system?
Man down systems are being used more and more often. That is hardly surprising, because we increasingly work alone. Where many jobs used to require several people, automation and other improvements have made that less and less necessary.
Although that is fundamentally positive for your organisation, there is a downside too. Because if a lone worker has an accident and is not found quickly, such an accident can have serious consequences. To prevent this, employees who work alone are increasingly being equipped with a man down system.
What does a man down system do?
In essence, a man down system raises a signal if the wearer of the system does not move for too long or suddenly falls. This is detected by various sensors, and of course you can configure exactly what ‘not moving for too long’ means. The man down system can set off an acoustic or visual alarm, but increasingly it is a digital alarm sent via a SIM card. Thanks to GPS or other forms of location tracking, the people alerted can take action quickly. A good man down system is robust, splash-proof and does not get in the way of the work. Most man down systems also have an emergency button, and some systems offer options such as gas detection. The most complete man down system we sell is the Blackline Safety G7c. A more compact system with all the essential functions is the TWIG Neo. Not sure about buying a man down system? Feel free to get in touch with us — we are ready to give you advice without obligation!
