Rent a vibration meter - Whole-body vibration

A whole-body vibration meter can be placed on equipment to measure an employee's exposure to whole-body vibration. Usually the seat in a vehicle transfers the vibration or shocks to the body, but sometimes there is also a vibrating platform on which employees stand for longer periods. For example when driving lorries, forklift trucks, electric pallet trucks, earth-moving or asphalting machines and tractors. Whole-body vibration and shocks can cause permanent damage to the body in the long term, such as to the lower back or the spine.

With a whole-body vibration meter, the vibration can be assessed against European Directive 2002/44/EC. This is done with a pancake-shaped vibration transducer that is placed on the employee's seat and records the vibration throughout the working period.
