When is protection needed when working with electromagnetic fields?

Electromagnetic fields are created by the generation, transmission or use of electricity, by the inductive heating of materials and by the wireless transmission of information. As long as employees are exposed to electromagnetic fields to which the rest of the population is also exposed, there is often no reason for additional protection. Think, for example, of mobile phones, office equipment or hand tools.

Where exposure is higher, it may be necessary to take measures. This may be the case, for example, in a working environment with welding equipment, electrolysis installations or radar antennas and transmitter installations for mobile telephony.
