The TSI OmniTrak Solution is a modular system for accurate measurement of environmental and sound parameters. With flexible modules such as SLM, Core and sensors, you can collect, analyse and manage real-time data for a wide range of applications.

The TSI OmniTrak Solution platform consists of a central device (= the OmniTrak Smart Station) and a range of modular sensors that can be deployed flexibly for different measurement parameters. All modules connect wirelessly to the Smart Station via Bluetooth, allowing you to monitor up to 10 modules at the same time.

What is the TSI OmniTrak Solution?

The OmniTrak Solution is a modular, scalable and affordable platform designed to support professionals in IAQ, industrial hygiene, facility management and education in monitoring and improving indoor environments.

Combining modular sensors, the central Smart Station and the TSI Link software, you can:

 

  • Monitor several locations at the same time
  • Measure a range of parameters such as particulate matter, VOCs, CO, CO₂, formaldehyde, temperature, humidity, pressure and sound levels

TSI OmniTrak Solution - Frequently asked questions

General questions

Yes. Tap the hamburger menu → Settings → Factory reset.

Open the Smart Station menu via the hamburger menu. If your name appears, you are logged in. Otherwise it shows “Profile” – tap it to log in. Actions that require a login will guide you through the process automatically.

Currently disabled, no function.

Yes, a rear-facing camera, but it is currently disabled.

No, but logging out of TSI Link™ provides basic security.

Up to 10 modules, depending on the duration of the measurement and the type of module (PM, SLM and Core generate a lot of data).

Setting up measurements & modules

No. Disconnect the modules and reconnect them in the order you want.

Hamburger → Sensor Data → Numeric dropdown → Chart.

Only one module can be shown in the chart at a time; the others remain visible in the numeric view.

Each module is shown with its name and serial number.

No, not at present.

Not yet, this is planned for a future release.

Power, connectivity & mounting

Measurement management & data collection

Quick Start Study:

This measurement is available for all modules and is recorded entirely on the Smart Station. It requires a continuous Bluetooth® connection to the modules.

  • If the connection is temporarily lost, the data collected during that period is not recorded.

  • When an SLM module is used, the most recently selected sound parameters are applied automatically.

  • Quick Start Studies are ideal for short measurements or quick checks, where real-time monitoring and immediate charts on the Smart Station are important.

 

Sound Study:
This measurement is designed specifically for Sound Level Meter (SLM) modules. As with Quick Start Studies, the data is recorded on the Smart Station and a constant Bluetooth® connection is required.

  • Allows you to select specific sound parameters for recording.

  • Includes prompts for pre- and post-calibration, so that sound measurements are always accurate and compliant with standards.

  • Sound Studies are ideal for workplace noise measurements, acoustic analyses and hearing protection studies.

 

Module Study:
This measurement is available exclusively for the Core module. The data is logged directly on the module itself, so the module can be out of Bluetooth® range without any data being lost.

  • The Smart Station is only needed to start and stop the study, not to maintain the connection during it.

  • Module Studies are suitable for long or complex measurements, for example in large spaces or across several locations where a constant Smart Station connection is difficult.

Currently the Core module only. Extension to other modules is planned in future firmware updates.

No. All measurements must be started and managed directly from the Smart Station.

No. The Smart Station cannot stop all modules remotely, because some modules log data independently (Module Study) and the Smart Station does not track that activity continuously.

No. Measurements have to be started and stopped manually while the Smart Station is connected and within Bluetooth® range of the module(s).

The Active Timer shows how much time has elapsed since a Module Study was started on the Core module. The timer keeps running, even when the measurement is paused.

  • Module Studies stop automatically after 24 hours if they are not ended manually before then.

  • All recorded data is fully retained and can be downloaded and analysed later.

  • Ideal for long-term monitoring without continuous supervision.

Yes. All data is automatically time-stamped and synchronised across all connected modules during a study.

  • Sample Interval: how often the module takes a measurement or sample.

  • Logging Interval: how often the module stores a value for reporting.

 

Quick Start & Sound Studies (all modules):

  • Sample Interval: 1 second

  • Logging Interval: 1 second

Module Studies (Core module):

  • Sample Interval:

    • CO2 sensor: 5 seconds

    • All other sensors: 1 second

  • Logging Interval: adjustable from 1 second to 30 minutes

    • Default: 1 minute

No. All measurements are real-time and exact. Every sample is recorded immediately, which gives an accurate snapshot of the measured parameters.

Data logging

When you start a Module Study, a green banner reading ‘Module Actively Logging’’ appears on the numeric data card, together with an active timer.

  • If you start a Quick Start Study or Sound Study, however, the sensor data screen only shows the modules involved in that study.

  • A Core module running a remote module study is temporarily not displayed.

  • In that case the Quick Start or Sound Study screen overrides the live sensor data screen.

  • Because the Core module is not part of that study, its data card and the green logging banner do not appear.

  • Once the Quick Start or Sound Study has ended, the green ‘Module Actively Logging’’ banner reappears on the Sensor Data screen for the Core module.

  • The Core module supports on-module data logging via a Module Study. The module only has to be within Bluetooth® range to start and stop the measurement; data collection simply continues, even if the module moves out of range.

  • Alternatively, the Core module can log data via the Smart Station by using a Quick Start Study.

  • All other modules can only log data via the Smart Station with a Quick Start or Sound Study and must remain within Bluetooth® range for the entire measurement.

  • Modules can be worn or carried, but they are not specifically designed as wearable devices.

  • TSI does not currently offer accessories for body-worn modules.

Yes. For accurate and representative measurements:

  • Avoid positions close to ventilation openings, windows, heat sources or still air.

  • Moderate airflow improves sensor performance.

  • Do not place the module in an enclosed space or cabinet.

Accessing data & sharing data

Yes. Measurements can be viewed directly on the Smart Station.

  • There are two options for exporting:

    1. Upload to the TSI Link™ cloud via Wi-Fi.

    2. Use a USB cable to transfer studies in CSV format directly to a computer – no internet connection required.

No. This is only possible once the measurement has been downloaded to the Smart Station.

You can export measurements in CSV format and share them by email.

If several users log in to a Smart Station or Report Creator with the same TSI Link™ account, they have shared access to the same measurements and data.

Not at present. Studies have to be downloaded and shared manually, unless you use a shared TSI Link™ cloud account.

  • No. You can view real-time data on the Smart Station and upload it to the cloud, but live streaming is not supported.

  • The TSI OmniTrak™ Solution system is designed for survey-based measurements, not for continuous monitoring.

In the United States.

No. TSI does not offer automatic backups. To prevent data loss, we recommend exporting and archiving data regularly, via Wi-Fi to TSI Link™ or via USB to a computer.

Software and reporting tools

No. You can use the Smart Station on its own and download data via USB.

A subscription is only required for cloud storage and advanced reporting tools, such as the TSI Link™ Report Creator.

The trial period is ideal for new users or organisations that want to try out the TSI OmniTrak™ Solution, including data logging, reporting and cloud functionality.

The trial period is activated when the Smart Station is registered or when a TSI Link™ account is created. You get full access to all functions for 30 days, with no payment during that period.

  • Your data is retained temporarily, but may eventually be deleted.

  • Make sure you download any important data before your subscription expires.

  • Supported formats: TIFF, JPG, PNG

  • PDF is not supported

Yes. The Report Creator lets you adjust, format and brand charts, within the possibilities of Microsoft Excel®.

You can use the raw data table in Excel® to create your own charts, pivot tables and visualisations.

There you will see the software version, together with a notification telling you whether you have the latest version or the option to update.

BaSystemen will periodically update your software and firmware at every calibration and inspection.

Warranty and calibration

The warranty period is 1 year.

Every 6 months. BaSystemen will automatically send you an email in advance to remind you to arrange calibration on time.

Regulations and environmental use

Yes. The module complies with the IEC 61672 and ANSI S1.4 standards and with Class 2, which makes it suitable for workplace noise measurements and hearing protection assessments.

  • These are industry standards that define measurement parameters and configurations for noise exposure:

    • OSHA HC – OSHA Hearing Conservation (hearing protection in the workplace)

    • OSHA PEL – OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit

    • DOD – U.S. Department of Defense

    • ACGIH – American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists

    • ISO – International Organization for Standardization

  • These presets ensure consistent measurements and regulatory compliance.

  • These are different methods for estimating the effectiveness of hearing protection:

    • HML (High, Medium, Low) – Widely used in European standards; evaluates protection across frequency bands.

    • NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) – American standard for estimating noise reduction in decibels.

    • SNR (Single Number Rating) – The European equivalent of NRR.

  • These values are calculated in TSI Link™ Report Creator on the basis of the selected HPD analysis.

No. The parameters are locked as soon as the report has been generated. To change the analysis method, the report has to be run again in TSI Link™ Report Creator with a different HPD selection.

  • Lavg (Average LAS) – Time-weighted average of A-weighted sound levels. Noise below a threshold (if one is set) is excluded.

  • LASmax – Highest measured A-weighted sound level.

  • LZpk – Peak sound level with Z-weighting (flat frequency response).

  • LCeq – Equivalent continuous sound level with C-weighting; often used in industrial or impulse noise analyses.

Note: Sound is measured in decibels (a logarithmic scale), so averages are not determined by simple arithmetic calculations.

No, the modules currently have no IP rating.

The TSI OmniTrak™ Solution is currently designed and recommended for indoor use. The modules can be used outdoors in favourable conditions, but they are not resistant to rain or strong wind and must not be used in bad weather.
