AeroFit® Quantitative Respirator Fit Tester
The AeroFit® is a quantitative fit testing system based on Condensation Nuclei Counting (CNC) technology. The instrument determines the fit factor by comparing the particle concentration outside and inside the mask, making it possible to assess the seal of the respiratory protective equipment objectively.
The AeroFit is suitable for testing both elastomeric masks and disposable masks, including N95, FFP2 and FFP3 respirators.
How the AeroFit works
The AeroFit uses the natural concentration of ultrafine particles in the ambient air as the test aerosol. By measuring the particle concentration outside the mask (Cout) and inside the mask (Cin), the fit factor is calculated directly:
Fit Factor = Cout / Cin
This method allows an objective assessment of the fit of the mask and complies with the international standards for quantitative fit testing.
The integrated touchscreen guides the user step by step through the complete test protocol with animations and clear instructions. At the same time, the system continuously monitors whether sufficient ambient particles are available for a reliable CNC measurement and helps to maintain an optimal test environment. The built-in verification procedure checks the operation of the instrument and simplifies daily quality control. The device also has an extensive respirator database that helps to select the correct test protocol automatically.
