The Nippon EMP-3 is the best choice for real-time mercury vapour measurements for occupational safety: this mercury vapour meter is suitable for use on site and measures in real time, so that you can take decisions immediately.
Compared with its predecessor (the EMP-2), the EMP-3 offers twice the measuring range, with unchanged sensitivity and linearity. The EMP-3 has also become more compact and lighter. This means the EMP-3 remains the choice for real-time monitoring of mercury vapour. The EMP-3 is now also equipped with GPS, so the location of the measurement does not have to be recorded manually while measuring. This keeps your hands free and rules out errors afterwards.
The Nippon EMP-3 continuously measures the amount of mercury vapour in the air using cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry. Thanks to this measuring method and the use of the gold filter, this instrument is largely free from cross-sensitivity to other gases/vapours and moisture. This measuring method is also suitable for measuring in environments with high acid concentrations.
Because the EMP-3 measures in real time, it can be used to trace the source of the mercury contamination. With its resolution of 0.1 µg/m³, you can easily detect even very low concentrations of mercury vapour.
Zero calibration can be carried out anywhere and at any time using a built-in filter. The battery provides an operating time of 5 hours and is easy to replace. The measured values are stored in internal memory, so you lose no time integrating the data into your report. The Nippon EMP-3 is the smallest mercury vapour meter on the market and is very easy to handle thanks to its adjustable carrying straps.
