The SV 803, a new wireless vibration monitor from Svantek, represents the latest technology in monitoring equipment. Designed specifically for wireless vibration monitoring of both buildings and ground vibration under a variety of environmental conditions, this device uses geophones as its primary vibration sensors. Geophones are known for their high sensitivity and, more importantly, their minimal impact on battery life. This means the SV 803 can measure vibration over long periods without the battery having to be recharged frequently. The vibration monitoring terminal has a battery life of up to 6 months and, when connected to a solar panel, can operate continuously.
The new SV 803 vibration monitor is designed to meet the strict Class 1 performance specifications described in ISO 4866, BS 7385-1 and DIN 45669-1. These superior specifications enable the device to carry out building and ground vibration monitoring in accordance with the measurement methods described in DIN 4150-3 and BS 7385-2. The device's Class 1 classification makes it an ideal choice for both engineering analysis and field monitoring, as it is able to deliver reliable and accurate measurements.
The SV 803 is designed for both short-term and long-term monitoring applications. The device measures velocity in three directions and simultaneously calculates both the Peak Particle Velocity and the dominant frequency values. In addition to logging overall values and frequency spectra, the SV 803 also stores the time signal for data processing.
The device uses FFT to determine the dominant frequency in accordance with BS and DIN standards. It also offers the option of using the RMS or PEAK velocity spectrum in 1/3-octave bands. With a battery life of up to 180 days and the ability to operate continuously when connected to a solar panel, the SV 803 is a reliable choice for vibration monitoring.
The SV 803 is built for vibration monitoring in buildings and on the ground, and thanks to its wireless capabilities it is easy to set up and to collect data. The device is equipped to measure and analyse a range of vibration parameters, such as peak particle velocity (PPV) and dominant frequency. Wireless vibration monitoring equipment such as the SV 803 is an essential tool for long-term projects in sectors such as construction, mining, tunnelling and transport. The device is fully autonomous and continuously monitors vibration levels, automatically starting additional frequency analysis when an event is detected. The built-in GPS modem provides accurate time synchronisation and information on the device's current location. This makes it possible to access the device remotely, allowing easy configuration and insight into the measurement data.
