The TWIG Beacon system is designed to locate people in need of assistance in areas where GPS is unreliable and other methods do not offer the required accuracy. Examples where GPS is often inadequate or inaccurate include indoors, underground, or near signal-disrupting equipment.
TWIG Beacons can be installed anywhere your employees work, from one per floor to one per room, depending on the size and activities of the business. The beacons transmit a radio signal that is picked up by your TWIG equipment. You could, for example, give a beacon the name 'engine room'. When one of your TWIG devices goes into alarm in the engine room, an alarm notification is sent stating that the device is located in the engine room. GPS coverage is not required at that moment, as your TWIG device has received this information from the TWIG Beacon.
TWIG Beacons operate completely independently on a battery that keeps the beacon running continuously for 3 to 5 years.
