Air sampling variants

The various air sampling pump variants differ mainly in the flow rate at which they can sample. The low-flow air sampling pump, for example, is suitable for flow rates up to 500 millilitres per minute. These pumps are often used to measure personal exposure to hazardous gases and vapours. A medium-flow air sampling pump is intended for measurements in the range between 1500 and 5000 millilitres per minute. They are ideal for carrying out personal dust exposure measurements, for example in combination with a digital dust monitor. High-flow air sampling pumps operate in a range between 5 and 12 litres per minute and are, for instance, very well suited to asbestos exposure measurements.

If the air sampling has to comply with the guidelines of occupational health and safety legislation, it is important that the pump flow is checked before and after the measurement.
