How does air sampling work?
There are many reasons to use air sampling. The most obvious situation is of course when work involves asbestos. But fine dust, nano dust, diesel engine emissions, welding fumes and chromium VI can also pose long-term hazards to your employees. If there is any chance that people in your organisation are working in contaminated air, it is advisable to use air sampling to obtain certainty.
During air sampling, a precisely determined volume of air is drawn across a filter. The concentration of a particular substance is then calculated by means of a gravimetric determination. In most cases, air sampling requires an air sampling pump, flow calibration and sorbent tubes or filter media. BaSystemen also offers an extensive range of air sampling bags.
