TSI 5210 Thermal Mass Flow Calibrator with integrated pressure sensor
The TSI 5200 is an advanced flow calibrator that measures gas flows according to the thermal mass flow principle, which ensures accurate and reliable measurements regardless of pressure or temperature. TSI flow meters are used as a flow reference for calibrating air sampling equipment, but can also be used for a wide range of other low flow applications.
This versatile low-flow calibrator not only records the gas flow accurately, but can also measure other important parameters such as temperature, absolute pressure, volume, humidity and, in addition to the TSI 5200, low differential pressure as well.
Advanced measuring principle of the TSI 5210
The TSI 5200 uses a thermal sensor that detects the heat transfer to the gas flow. Because the measurement is based on the mass of the gas and not on its volume, the instrument is ideal for applications in which the temperature or pressure may vary.
For forward flow, the TSI 5200 has an accuracy of ±2% of reading or 0.005 L/min, whichever is greater. This makes it particularly suitable for low flow rate applications where precision is essential, such as calibrating your low-flow air sampling pump. But for calibrating your air sampling pump at a flow of, for example, 2 litres per minute, the TSI 5210 is also highly accurate and the ±2% deviation falls comfortably within the standard.
For reverse flow, where the gas flows in the opposite direction, the accuracy is slightly lower: ±3% of reading or 0.01 L/min, again whichever is greater. This is still sufficient for many industrial applications in which the flow direction alternates. The measuring range runs from 0 to ±30 standard litres per minute (Std L/min), which makes it suitable for a wide variety of gas flows.
The fast response time of just 4 milliseconds to reach 63% of the total measured flow makes the instrument highly responsive. This ensures that a large part of the final reading can be recorded within this short time.
Another important feature is the low pressure drop, which means the instrument has no significant influence on the gas flow. This is essential in applications where pressure retention and energy efficiency are crucial. The TSI 5200 is also robust and designed for long-term use with minimal maintenance.
