The Partector 2 Environmental 24/7 UFP Monitor measures five particle parameters, namely: lung-deposited surface area (LDSA), particle number, average particle size, surface concentration and UFP mass (PM0.3). These are measured simultaneously with a high time resolution of 1 second, so the system can capture even rapid fluctuations in air quality. The Partector 2 Pro additionally offers a more detailed particle size distribution, which enables a more in-depth analysis of air quality.

The operating principle of the Partector 2 is based on non-contact diffusion-charge detection of ultrafine particles (UFPs). During the diffusion charge process the particles are charged through interaction with an electric field, which results in an induced current. This current is proportional to the particle number and is measured by means of a voltage drop. The particle number concentration is measured with a high time resolution of 1 second, while LDSA, average particle size, surface area and UFP mass (PM0.3) are calculated by advanced algorithms that derive particle sizes and masses from the electrically charged particles. This provides continuous, real-time monitoring without any physical contact with the particles being needed.

The Partector 2 is small and needs little power. It can run for a long time (weeks) on an external battery, or alternatively be powered by a small solar panel. 
  
  
• Very low maintenance: The Naneos Partector 2 is designed with an innovative electrical diffusion-charging measuring principle that is virtually maintenance-free. Unlike optical and mechanical aerosol monitors, the Partector 2 works without filters or membrane pumps, so wear and regular replacement of parts are unnecessary. The built-in Partector 2 or Partector 2 Pro works together with the IoT platform for continuous data collection and analysis in the cloud.
