• Modular design
  The Blackline G8 measures gas. Up to 5 different gases at the same time. You choose which ones yourself via interchangeable cartridges, and you can change the configuration at any time without having to buy a new device.
  
  
• Man-down features
  The Blackline G8 does not only keep an eye on gas, but also on you as a person: if you fall, stop moving or forget your check-in, it raises the alarm. All of this is programmable to your requirements.
  
  
• 3G/4G connectivity
  The device lets you talk to your team (like a two-way radio, but over the mobile network) or send a manual emergency call to a live monitoring centre.
  
  
• Cloud connected
  Everything it measures and detects goes straight to the cloud. Back at the office someone can see exactly where you are, what is going on and whether you need help. At the same time you collect an enormous amount of measurement data in the background, such as a heat map of gas concentrations across your entire site.

In each case you can choose from 20+ sensors (including LEL-IR, LEL-MPS, PID, NH3, CO, H2S, O2, CO2, Cl2, etc.). The Blackline G8 always has an adjustable low gas alarm, high gas alarm, 15-minute rolling average (STEL) and a working-day average (TWA).

As soon as a limit value for gases is exceeded, the device beeps and flashes locally. A notification of the location and gas reading is also sent to the Blackline Live portal. That way a colleague immediately has insight into how serious the situation is. In emergencies the Blackline G8 can be called directly to check whether everything is all right. If there is no answer, the colleague knows straight away which gas and which concentrations are present, and whether a gas mask is needed during a rescue operation, for example.

• Fall detection →  The device registers whether you have fallen on the basis of an accelerometer and an impact sensor. 
  
  
• No motion → The device registers when you show no movement for a longer period. A strong alternative to fall detection, or a valuable extra safety net.
  
  
• Missed check-in → You can set up periodic check-ins. Every 30 minutes, for example, the device gives a signal and you press the check-in button. 
  
  
• SOS emergency call → Should there be an emergency in which the wearer of the Blackline G8 is able to raise the alarm themselves, the device has a manual emergency latch.
  

As soon as one of the sensors above is triggered, a pre-alarm goes off first. This alarm is only on the device itself and is therefore not forwarded to a colleague. The duration of the pre-alarm is adjustable, 30 seconds for example. Should the wearer of the Blackline G8 not (be able to) respond to the pre-alarm, for instance because they have lost consciousness after the fall, the alarm is forwarded to a colleague or a monitoring agency via the Blackline Live portal.

• Push-to-Talk (PTT) → for one-to-one or team conversations. This runs over multi-roaming 4G, so it is not restricted by national borders.
  
  
• Direct emergency call → Via the Blackline Live monitoring platform a direct emergency call can be initiated with the colleague wearing a Blackline G8.
  
  
• SMS messages → Via the Blackline Live monitoring platform text messages can be written to a Blackline G8 device. The Blackline G8 can respond with pre-programmed text messages, such as: 'I am OK' , 'Help', etc
  
  
• Mass notifications → Via the Blackline Live monitoring platform mass notifications can be sent to a group of Blackline G8 devices, or to all Blackline G8 devices in the organisation. This is extremely efficient in the event of an evacuation or weather warnings, for example.
