Why measure noise?
Too much noise can cause hearing damage. Not only does that mean someone hears less well, it can also lead to more stress, fatigue and concentration problems. In order to offer your employees the right hearing protection, it is important to measure the noise in the workplace first. If an employee is exposed daily to 85 dB(A) or more, hearing protection is mandatory.
With a professional sound level meter you can take measurements that comply with the ISO9612 standard. This means the measurements are accurate and – provided the instrument is properly calibrated – readily comparable with one another. In addition, a good sound level meter makes analysing the measurement data straightforward, both in the instrument itself and in reports.
