The CRY8125 Ex is a TÜV-certified acoustic camera for sound visualisation in explosive atmospheres. The system is fully certified in accordance with the ATEX and IECEx directives (Zone 2) and complies with the IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-11 standards. This makes the CRY8125 suitable for use in areas with an explosion hazard caused by gas or dust.
This acoustic camera makes sound sources visible and helps to trace gas leaks, electrical discharges (PD) and mechanical wear, among other things – at a safe distance and with high accuracy. The camera combines acoustic imaging with direct reporting capabilities, making inspection processes faster, safer and better documented.
The CRY8125 Ex is used for inspections and measurements in explosive atmospheres where conventional equipment may not be used. The camera locates sound waves using a microphone array and projects them directly onto the visible image. This allows leaks or mechanical sources to be identified quickly, without physical contact or risk.
Using the integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, measurement data is sent straight to connected devices for analysis or reporting. Thanks to its intuitive interface and rugged design, the camera is suitable for daily use in demanding environments. For specific applications the system can be extended with up to four IEPE sensors, such as external microphones or accelerometers.
The camera works entirely stand-alone and has an integrated workflow from image capture through to report generation. Inspection reports can be created directly on site.

The CRY8125 Ex is designed for inspections in explosive atmospheres where safety, accuracy and documentation are paramount. For occupational hygienists and safety experts, this instrument offers the ability to locate sound sources visually and non-invasively and to map gas leaks safely.
Unlike traditional leak detectors or acoustic devices that are not suitable for ATEX zones, the CRY8125 Ex offers a certified solution that can be deployed without additional safety measures. Thanks to its expansion options and sensor integration, the system is suitable for both standard inspections and more complex maintenance tasks.
The CRY8125 Ex is classified as a "high-end model" in the CRYSOUND product line. Where entry-level models such as the CRY2620 work with 64 microphones and a maximum detection range of up to 70 metres, the CRY8125 has 200 microphones, allowing it to locate very small leaks at distances of more than 100 metres.
