Kunak Rain Gauge – Precipitation measurements for environmental monitoring
The Kunak Rain Gauge has been developed for the accurate measurement of precipitation within air quality and environmental monitoring projects. The sensor uses a proven self-emptying tipping bucket system that records precipitation continuously and reliably, regardless of the amount or intensity of the rain.
Meteorological data such as precipitation play an important role in interpreting air quality measurements and the dispersion of dust and emissions. That is why the rain gauge is often used as an extension to Kunak AIR monitors.
Self-emptying measuring system
The rain gauge works with a standardised collection funnel that gathers rainwater and channels it to a self-emptying tipping mechanism. This keeps the measurement continuously active without interruptions during prolonged or heavy precipitation. Thanks to this technique the sensor offers:
