Kunak AIR Lite – Compact air quality monitor
The Kunak AIR Lite is a compact air quality monitor for measuring air pollution in real time. The system has been developed for applications that require reliable measurement data in a smaller, energy-efficient format. The Kunak AIR Lite measures particulate matter and up to two gases simultaneously. Thanks to its compact design and straightforward installation, the system is suitable for both temporary measurement campaigns and permanent monitoring set-ups in urban and industrial environments. The monitor combines particulate matter measurements such as PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 with gas measurements via interchangeable smart gas cartridges. This allows the system to be adapted flexibly to the requirements of every project.
How does the Kunak AIR Lite work?
The Kunak AIR Lite uses the same smart gas cartridge technology as the Kunak AIR Pro. Each cartridge contains a separate sensor with its own calibration data and configuration. As soon as a cartridge is fitted, it is automatically recognised by the system. This means sensors can easily be replaced or combined without the device having to be returned to the manufacturer. Among other things, the Kunak AIR Lite supports measurements of CO, NO, NO₂, O₃, SO₂, H₂S, NH₃, VOCs, NMHC (Non-Methane Hydrocarbons), CO₂ and CH₄. In addition, the system also measures the particulate fractions PM1, PM2.5, PM10 as well as temperature, humidity, air pressure and dew point. The Kunak AIR Lite has been developed for projects where compact dimensions, low energy consumption and straightforward installation are important. Weighing less than 2.3 kg, the system is easy to install at temporary locations, on lighting columns, façades or mobile measuring points. The monitor has an IP65-rated enclosure and is designed for long-term use in a wide range of weather conditions.
Autonomous operation
The Kunak AIR Lite has a built-in 20 Ah lithium battery and can be powered from the mains or by a solar panel. This allows the system to operate completely autonomously, even at locations without a fixed power supply. Depending on the configuration, the monitor can:
- run 24/7 from a solar panel or external power supply
- operate on battery power for between 9 and 30 days
Thanks to its low energy consumption, the Kunak AIR Lite is suitable for long-term measurement campaigns at remote locations. All measurement data is automatically forwarded to the Kunak AIR Cloud platform. This online environment allows users to follow, analyse and export data in real time. The platform supports, among other things:

- remote configuration and calibration
- data validation and quality control
- automated reporting
- API connections to external systems
Kunak AIR Cloud also offers tools for hotspot analysis, trends, wind plots and analysis of pollution sources.

Within the Kunak AIR series, the AIR Lite has been developed as a compact and energy-efficient solution for projects where a maximum of two gases need to be measured. The Kunak AIR Pro offers more expansion options, support for up to five simultaneous gas measurements and additional integration options for more complex measurement projects. Both systems use the same smart gas cartridge technology and the Kunak AIR Cloud platform.
